Project scope

Although we provide steel framing projects across the South East, this project was a short journey from our factory. Located in Shorne, Kent this structural steel was on time and on budget.

Having surveyed the Pear Tree Lane address, it’s back to the workshop with measurements to order in the steel needed. All our steel is provided by our trusted supplier and of the highest quality. First thing’s first, the loading team offload all the ordered steel and check everything is as it should be.

With all the delivery checked and counted, the MAH Steel cutting and saw operators check the project cutting list. This tells them the exact specifications for the residential steel frame and what they need to cut. To ensure the correct cut lengths, the ends are cleaned up and squared off. Once this phase is complete, it’s over to the fabrication team.

The team safely transport the cut and checked steels to the fabrication area of our workshop by forklift. Before any fabrication can start all material is check by our in-house inspector. Once given the all clear, our workshop manager issues job tickets and Tekla drawings to the team, briefing them thoroughly on the project. With all the information they need, our highly experienced MAH Steel fabrication team set to work on their part of the project.

With the manufacture of the project components complete, we check them again making sure all the holes are correct and the beams with end plates all line up. Time for finishing.

Finishing Touches

Each component of the residential steel frame is taken by forklift to our paint shop. Following the project notes, our team paint the steel as required. Once completed and dried it’s then checked for paint thickness and laid out in the yard, ready for further inspection.

Again (because we believe in the highest quality control!) our loading team check that all the steel is correct to the delivery notes and everything is in place. With the order complete, we load each piece carefully and securely onto one of our crane lorries. Our MAH Steel skilled delivery drivers and crane operators deliver the order directly to the project site in Shorne.

Whilst on site our site installation team place and erect the steel exactly where needed. Then they thoroughly check every inch of the steel work, tightening all bolts and checking everything is level. The very final step is client approval. With their final check and approval, only then do we sign off the job. Happy client, happy MAH Steel!
