Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas are experiencing a growing demand for residential and light commercial extensions, often requiring bespoke steel solutions. Homeowners and builders increasingly seek pre-fabricated, ready-to-install beams and sections that reduce on-site work and speed up project timelines. Cranked beams, lightweight yet strong steel frames, and fully painted or primed finishes are becoming standard, while local fabricators are investing in more advanced workshop equipment to handle larger, more complex components efficiently. Safety, precision, and efficiency continue to be the top priorities for structural steel in this region.

Some projects test every skill in the workshop, and this Sevenoaks job was a perfect example. From the very beginning, it demanded careful planning, expert coordination, and precise timing. The main challenge was a single beam over 8 metres long and weighing around 1 tonne, which had to be carefully maneuvered across uneven terrain and installed before other key elements could proceed. Every step required meticulous attention to safety and logistics, and any misstep could have delayed the entire project.

We spent hours liaising with the client and our skilled installation team, planning exactly how to deliver, position, and fit every component. Once the plans were finalised, our exceptional workforce began cutting and fabricating all beams and columns needed for the structure. Each element was checked for accuracy and strength, ensuring it would slot perfectly into place on site.

Delivery and installation were completed over three carefully coordinated phases. Our experienced lorry driver and crane operator worked hand-in-hand with the client’s on-site crew to safely unload the massive beam. From there, our installation team guided it into position, overcoming tight spaces, uneven ground, and other site challenges. Subsequent phases delivered the remaining components, each timed precisely to ensure a smooth final assembly. In the end, the project was a complete success, a testament to careful planning, skilled fabrication, and teamwork.
