The work starts with your drawings and specification. Using modern saw and drill lines, we achieve precise cuts and boreholes for consistent fit-up on site, helping reduce delays and installation issues. All steel is fabricated to your specifications and prepared for efficient installation.
Drawings and 3D models can be provided where required, allowing for clear planning, approval, and coordination before fabrication begins. We can also help coordinate CAD drawings, steel erection and HIAB delivery where those services form part of your project.
MAH works with everything from individual load-bearing members to fabricated assemblies. The engineer's drawings and agreed specification determine the final sizes, grades and connections.

Fabrication starts with the required steel schedule, structural engineer's information and agreed details. Individual beams may need cutting and drilling, while larger packages involve plates, connection points, welded members and coordinated assemblies. MAH can discuss where CAD services, 3D modelling or a site survey will help clarify the work before production.
MAH supplies and fabricates RSJs, universal beams, universal columns, channels, angles, flats and bespoke steelwork. Common projects include loft conversions, residential extensions, basement works, commercial shopfronts and wider structural alterations. For frames, trusses or complex connections (see steel connection design), the technical drawings and specification determine exactly what is made and how the steel is to be assembled.
Not every steelwork problem can be solved in the workshop. MAH also undertakes on-site fabrication and welding, including individual connections, modifications and remedial work where the existing steelwork or site conditions need attention. Working on an active site can involve extra time, cost, access and safety considerations, so talk to the office early about the scope, drawings, access and timetable.
Processing and fabrication should reflect the drawings that the project team has agreed. Cutting, hole positions, plates, welded details and delivery handling are all part of making the steel usable on site. The scope of any inspection and finishing is agreed for the particular project.
Price matters in steel fabrication, and MAH recognises that. A useful quotation also accounts for preparation, connections, the agreed finish, delivery, site access and the programme. Clear drawings, quantities, site information and an indication of when the steel is needed help MAH provide a clear, competitive quote. A fabricated steel package still has to reach the right place at the right time. MAH's own fleet and HIAB capability allow the team to discuss planned unloading, narrow access, lifting arrangements and how the delivery fits the construction programme. Where required, speak to MAH about steel delivery, HIAB lorry-crane delivery and steel erection as part of the same enquiry.
