A new client came to us for a commercial shopfront project in Chatham, Kent. After reviewing our case studies, pricing and turnaround times, they got in touch.
How we did it
Drawings and fabrication
Our in-house design team coordinated directly with the customer's engineers and architects to create precise, fabrication-ready drawings. Once the drawings were approved, we sourced the steel from our wholesaler, and our sawmen cut each section to size at our Gravesend workshop. The steel was fabricated in our workshop, with all parts pre-fitted before final welding to make assembly on site smooth. Our team stayed in close contact with the customer throughout, with updates and confirmations of detail.
Finish and delivery
Our in-house quality assurance team inspected all the dimensions, welds and assembly points against the approved drawings. The steel was shot blasted and primed with zinc phosphate to protect it from corrosion, then loaded onto one of our own vehicles and delivered directly to site.
Outcome
- On site within days of the order, for the customer's team to fit (the customer's account)
- The frame fitted into place with no rework or issues, as the customer reported
Jordan went over and above our expectations in sorting this out at very short notice. He and his team picked up the project when I had been let down by another fabricator, drew up the project for my team to check before fabrication was started and then they got it all out to site in a matter of days, for my team to fit. The delivery was excellent and every beam fitted together perfectly. We will definitely be using Jordan and MAH steel for our next job too!
