What information do I need for an accurate estimate?
Structural engineer drawings or a clear schedule of the required steel sections are the best starting point. If you do not have final drawings, share what you already know, including dimensions, site location, access constraints and your preferred delivery date. The information needed for fabrication will be agreed before work begins.
What if I need steel urgently?
If your project needs steel urgently, please call our office on 01322 276948 and tell us what you need and when. We cannot promise an urgent fabrication or delivery date, but we will do everything we reasonably can to help. We'll look at your requirements, workshop capacity and delivery options, then explain what is achievable. If another supplier has let you down, please tell us.
Can you work directly from structural engineer calculations?
Engineer calculations can help with initial discussions or quotation. For fabrication and delivery, MAH requires structural engineer General Arrangement (GA) drawings with measurements so that no key dimensions or details have to be assumed. Designs must be approved by the appropriate engineers before fabrication.
Can you deliver to a site with difficult access?
MAH regularly works with restricted-access projects, including narrow residential streets and properties with limited unloading space. Provide details of road width, parking restrictions, access to the site and any lifting obstacles so a practical approach can be assessed.
What affects the price of structural steel?
The price depends on the steel weight and section requirements, fabrication complexity, specified finish and delivery or installation needs. Site access and programme constraints can also affect the work involved. Send the details you have so MAH can prepare a quotation against the right scope.
