Steel fabrication for South London

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent and delivers by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB) across South London, from Lambeth, Camberwell and Brixton to Clapham, Streatham, Croydon and Sutton, for residential alterations, extensions, refurbishments and commercial fit-outs.

South London is mostly south of the Thames and covers boroughs including Lambeth, Southwark, Croydon and Sutton. Its growth accelerated with the mid-19th-century railways, so older housing is common, and removing walls, opening up space, extending and converting existing buildings all call for structural steel. Builders, architects, engineers and homeowners from Lambeth, Camberwell and Brixton out to Croydon and Sutton can all use the same service.

The principal corridor from Gravesend is the M25 clockwise to junction 7, then the M23 spur and the A23 north towards Croydon and Streatham. The A22 from junction 6 and the A217 from junction 8 are the other main roads north from the M25. The A2 and south-east London roads are an alternative for some destinations, so the route is decided for each delivery rather than fixed in advance. Within Greater London the London-wide lorry rules apply, including the Low Emission Zone for lorries over 3.5 tonnes and the HGV Safety Permit for lorries over 12 tonnes, which is another reason to agree timing and route before the lorry leaves.
