It’s good news week – MAH Steel has a CE accredited certificate! And we’re ready to keep growing!

We proudly announce that MAH Steel is a CE approved fabricator to Execution Class 2 (EXC 2) for structural steel. Following an extensive internal Alcumus audit they approved our Factory Production Control (FPC), passing every department with flying colours.

What is CE Accreditation?

A CE marking is compulsory for many construction goods. However, not all products need to have the CE marking. Any product that has EU product specifications must comply with marking requirements.

BS EN 1090 is a legal requirement for all structural steel fabrication products which are sold in Europe. As a result, all steel fabricators who design and/or manufacture structural steel components must adhere to this. Therefore, all MAH Steel products now have the CE marking. This marking indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards. Each one compulsory for products sold within the European Economic Area.

What’s Execution Class 2?

The standards divide steelwork and steel fabrication certification into four categories. As a result, a steelwork contractor may not produce steel in a higher category than certified.

• Farm Buildings – Execution Class 1
• Buildings – Execution Class 2
• Bridges – Execution Class 3
• Special structures (e.g. Power Stations) – Execution Class 4

So, don’t ask us to construct any bridges yet!
