Steel fabrication for Welling

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for extensions, loft conversions and refurbishments in Welling and East Wickham, close to Bexleyheath and Plumstead, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB). Welling sits on the old Watling Street route between London and Kent.

Welling sits on the old Watling Street, and the steel follows much the same line out of Kent: from the Gravesend workshop it joins the A2 and heads into south-east London, with Welling signed from the A102 and A207 Shooters Hill junction. Extension and loft beams are fabricated to the engineer's drawings and checked before delivery.

The housing is mostly suburban: the council built over 400 houses north of the railway after the First World War, and the land south of it opened up for suburban streets once the Danson estate was sold to developers. Sites vary from one street to the next, so the delivery team confirms the vehicle, the access and the unloading with you. If a delivery would fall at night or at the weekend, remember that lorries over 18 tonnes are subject to the London Lorry Control Scheme on restricted roads; the scheme controls routes rather than banning deliveries.
