Fire-painted steel for a home extension in Bromley, craned over a fence into the back garden

Project overview

A home extension in Bromley needed fabricated steels. We received drawings from the customer, and worked from them.

Work delivered

Fabrication

The steel was delivered to our yard by our supplier and offloaded by our loading team. Our cutting and saw operators checked the cutting list and cut the steel to the required measurements, cleaning up and squaring the ends. A forklift took it to the fabrication area, where our workshop manager issued job tickets and Tekla drawings. Our in-house inspector checked all the material, and we checked again that the right holes were drilled and the beams lined up with the end plates.

Finish and delivery

The steel went to our paint shop and was fire painted. Our quality control team checked the paint thickness, and the steel was laid out in the yard to dry. The loading team checked it against the delivery notes before it was loaded onto one of our crane lorries and delivered to the site, where it was placed exactly where the customer wanted it: over a fence into the back garden.
