Steel fabrication for Canary Wharf

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for projects in Canary Wharf, the Isle of Dogs, Poplar and Limehouse, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB). Canary Wharf was built on the former West India Docks and is now a business district of office and residential towers.

For Canary Wharf, fabrication is worked from the engineer's drawings and MAH coordinates with the architect or builder. Onsite fabrication and welding, adjusting steel to fit or carrying out remedial steelwork, can follow the delivery. The lorry crosses from Kent on the A2 and A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach, using the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel to reach the north bank; both are charged in each direction during charging hours.

The district is on the Isle of Dogs, within Tower Hamlets and described as a privately owned business district, so gate arrangements and offload positions can be set by the estate or the main contractor as well as the public road. Scheduling, access requirements and unloading are discussed with you before the lorry leaves. Reach options are 15 m, 22 m or 30 m with fly jib.
