Steel fabrication for Woolwich

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for loft conversions, extensions and residential schemes in Woolwich, with Plumstead, Charlton, Eltham, Abbey Wood and Thamesmead close by. The older parts of the Royal Arsenal and Woolwich Common are conservation areas, and we deliver by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB).

From Gravesend the steel reaches Woolwich on the A2, which meets the A205 South Circular at a grade-separated junction; the A205 starts at the Woolwich Ferry approach, and the A206 is the main east-west road through the town. The beams are fabricated to the structural engineer's drawings, checked before delivery, and drawn from the stock held at the workshop.

The former Royal Arsenal site is being converted to residential use, with thousands of homes built or planned, and larger schemes call for more than a lorry and a crane. MAH describes its service as fabrication, HIAB delivery and onsite installation or steel erection under one roof, with project management. For an ordinary house, the 15 m reach suits tighter streets, 22 m is for mid-range lifts and 30 m with fly jib for complex access, confirmed per job. Lorries over 3.5 tonnes must meet the Euro VI standard or pay a daily Low Emission Zone charge anywhere in Greater London.
