Steel fabrication for Plumstead

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for extensions, loft conversions and refurbishments in Plumstead, next to Woolwich, from the terraced streets that grew up around the Royal Arsenal to the larger houses above Plumstead Common, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB).

Plumstead steel goes from Gravesend by the A2 into south-east London, with the A205 South Circular, which begins at the Woolwich Ferry approach on the A206, meeting the A2 nearby. Wall removals and other structural alterations are the kind of job where the beam has to be right first time, so MAH fabricates to the engineer's drawings and checks the steel before it leaves.

Much of Plumstead grew in the 1880s as housing for Royal Arsenal workers, mostly two-up two-down terraces, with larger, smarter properties built uphill around the common. A lorry on a terraced street and one outside a bigger house on the hill face different constraints, so the right vehicle is chosen after talking through the address and unloading with you. Lorries over 3.5 tonnes driving in Greater London must meet the Euro VI standard or pay a daily Low Emission Zone charge.
