Fabricated steel for a Guildford home, delivered with tight access

Project overview

We received drawings from a couple building a home in Guildford and provided a quote. They accepted it, so we sent a drawing for approval and, once it was approved, produced the fabrication drawings.

The fabrication pack went out to the yard's departments. Our cutting and saw operators checked the cutting list and cut the steel to the required measurements, and a forklift took it to the fabrication area. Before the fabricators started, our in-house inspector checked all the material, and our workshop manager issued job tickets and Tekla drawings. After fabrication the steel was checked again to make sure the right holes were drilled and the beams with end plates lined up.

Delivery

Because of the tight access we used one of our smaller fleet vehicles to deliver the steel to exactly where the customers needed it, so the steel and the other building materials were ready for the builder.
