Project overview
Putney High Street is undergoing refurbishment, and this project needed structural steel for a challenging extension. MAH Steel supplied and installed the steel.
Our approach
Design and detailing
Our design team created 3D drawings of the fabrication, which were sent to the client for approval. After a few amendments and tweaks we reached a fully detailed 3D model general arrangement drawing, and fabrication began.
Fabrication
The steel was cut on our CNC production line, then drilled and fabricated using the Tekla drawings and checked. It was painted in our paint booth and left to dry.
Delivery and erection
The steel was loaded onto our crane lorry and delivered to the project site, then unloaded where it was needed. Our onsite installation team erected each piece, tightening and fixing all the bolts. Our driver helped with the installation, and the steel was checked by our team and the customer before sign-off.
Outcome
- 56 tonnes of structural steel erected in less than five weeks with our 30m crane (the client's figures)
We always used MAH Steel for all our projects that require steel work. The latest project was supply & install, was avery challenging project, new extension to existing building and refurbishment internally. Internal works was most challenging part for steel installation team which went smoothly from start to finish, 56T of structural steel erected in less than 5 weeks with their 30m crane. Nothing was too much complicated even the crane driver was mucking in with the install! I would never go anywhere else for my steel.
