SteelworkUB and UC sections and fabricated structural steel assemblies
Project overview
The delivery was arranged with the building contractor to suit the construction programme, so the building contractor could carry on with the extension works.
Our approach
Design & planning
We began by reviewing the structural engineer’s drawings and confirming the steel sections, fabrication dimensions and connection details.
Fabrication
The steel members and fabricated assemblies were made in our workshop to those drawings and prepared for installation on site.
Delivery & installation
We coordinated the transport and lift with the building contractor. Using a specialist HIAB crane, the fabricated steel was lifted above the existing roof and lowered into the rear of the property, directly where it was needed for the extension works.
Outcome
Fabricated structural steel delivered into the rear extension area by HIAB crane
Steel lifted over the existing roof, avoiding the need for conventional rear access
Delivery arranged around the building contractor’s programme
