A client needed cranked roof beams for a first-floor extension quickly. Our draftsmen surveyed the site for the tricky angles, we fabricated and primed the steel, and the client installed it themselves.

A client in North West London got in touch about steels for their first-floor extension. We sent a quotation and they placed an order for supply only, as they would handle the installation themselves.
How we did it
Fabrication
The steel arrived from our wholesaler and was checked in the workshop before cutting. Each section was sawn to length and fabricated to the approved drawings. Accuracy was key, from the bolt holes to the plates, so our QA team double-checked everything.
Finish and delivery
The steels were blasted and painted with a zinc phosphate primer at the correct thickness, then hung in the yard to dry. Bolts, nuts, washers and fixings were added and the package was loaded onto one of our lorries for delivery.
Outcome
The client installed the steels themselves, starting with the two main frames that formed the core of the extension
