Project overview
A customer asked us for fabricated steel beams for an extension in Orpington that needed a Hiab lift for precise placement. The customer provided accurate dimensions, so we moved the order into processing quickly.
Work delivered
Fabrication
The steel was already in stock, so our team selected the right sizes straight away. A forklift took it to the cutting station, where our saw technician measured and cut the beams to exact lengths. In the fabrication area we double-checked all the measurements, cleaned the ends and added the end plates and connections. The beams were welded and drilled for bolts and connections.
Finish and delivery
The steel was sandblasted and painted. After the paint dried, our team inspected the alignment, weld integrity and hole placement, and assembled the bolts, nuts, washers and packing plates. We loaded the steel onto our 30-metre-reach Hiab lorry, and our driver delivered it directly to the customer's site, positioning it at the back of the house where it was needed.
