Project overview

One of our recent projects involved a large steel frame for a residential extension in South London. The customer gave us detailed drawings and we prepared an estimated quote covering all the steel, connections and fabrication. The steel sizes matched our standard stock.

Drawings and fabrication

Before production began we profiled plates for the connections. Our office team double-checked all the dimensions with the customer and supplied final drawings. The steel was cut to the cutting list, the ends were cleaned, and the end plates and connection components were fabricated and welded into place. Our quality assurance team inspected the welding and drilling at each stage.

Finish and delivery

The steel was sandblasted, painted in our paint shed and hung to dry, then checked again. The steel-to-steel fixings, including 150 bolts and splice plates, were secured to the job, and the fabricated steel was loaded onto our 22-metre Hiab lorry for an early morning delivery. On the scheduled day, we delivered it to site and placed it where it was needed.
