A recent project involved a client in urgent need of steel for a small home extension. Due to a last-minute oversight, they had forgotten to order the required steels. So, MAH Steel, a trusted steel supplier, stepped in and took care of the entire process. Within just three days, our team designed, fabricated, and delivered everything to the site.

Our process began by promptly assessing the specific steel needs for the extension. We designed the steel requirements in-house and presented the drawings to the customer for approval. Once approved, our team quickly moved forward with fabricating the steels in our dedicated steel fabrication facility.

Steel fabrication for Havering

We selected the appropriate steel from our large inventory of high-quality materials. After verifying the steel requirements, the cutting process began. Using precision sawing, we cut the steel to exact lengths, ensuring the material matched the project’s specifications perfectly. After that, once we cut the steel sections, we moved them to the fabrication area. Here, our expert steel fabricators meticulously checked that each piece met the correct dimensions before proceeding. The next stage involved welding, drilling, and preparing the steel according to the approved drawings. Our team of coded steel fabricators worked with precision, ensuring that every aspect of the steel adhered to the engineer’s specifications.

Our in-house QA team conducted multiple checks throughout the steel fabrication process to ensure every measurement, cut, and weld was accurate. The welders fully welded the fabricated steels to specification. All holes and plates were carefully aligned to meet the structural engineer’s requirements.

So, once fabrication was completed, the steels were prepared for surface treatment. In this project, zinc phosphate primer was applied to protect the steel from corrosion. The primer was applied with the correct thickness in microns, and the steels were left to dry in our yard.

Steel delivery and erection in East London

After drying, the steel components underwent another round of quality checks by both our QA and loading teams. These inspections ensured that every element – whether it be holes, bolts, steel-to-steel fixings, or washers – was in perfect condition and in compliance with the customer’s instructions.

With all checks complete, the steels were loaded onto our 30-metre Hiab lorry. Our experienced driver ensured the load was secure, ready for a 5am delivery the next morning. The steel was successfully delivered and positioned right over the back of the client’s house, exactly where it was needed.
