Steel for a refurbishment project in Kent

One of our customers requested fabricated steel components for an extension project in Kent involving a complex crank roof frame. This job required the creation of detailed drawings based on on-site measurements. 

Once the final dimensions had been approved, we began processing the order efficiently. The order was finalised and then sent to the workshop, where the steel was carefully chosen from our extensive stockpile. It was then transported by forklift for precision cutting. Each piece was checked against the requirements and precisely cut to the required dimensions. 

Next, the cut pieces were moved to the fabrication area, where our experienced team verified the lengths before starting the steel fabrication process. Following this, the cut ends were refined, and the appropriate end plates and connections were integrated into the workflow. When angles are involved then the components are triple checked. 

Throughout the fabrication process, rigorous checks ensured compliance with specifications. This included thorough inspections of welding and drilling to confirm that holes, plates, and other fabrication requirements were met precisely. Our commitment to precision was evident at every stage of production.

Once fabrication was completed, the steel components underwent sandblasting in preparation for painting. They were then hung in our yard to dry thoroughly.

Before loading, a final visual inspection confirmed that all steel elements were manufactured according to specifications. Additional steel-to-steel fastenings, including bolts, nuts, washers, and packing plates were added to complete the job. No defects were identified during the inspection for this project and was passed.

Finally, the fabricated and painted steel components were loaded onto our 30-metre Hiab truck. The driver carefully reviewed the load to ensure it was ready for an early departure. The components were then delivered to the construction site and our crane helped the customer to install the steels.
