Project overview
One of our customers, a Kent-based building contractor, asked us for fabricated steel components for an extension project in Kent that involved a complex cranked roof frame. The job required detailed drawings based on on-site measurements.
Work delivered
Drawings and fabrication
Once the final dimensions had been approved, the steel was chosen from our stock, taken by forklift for cutting and checked against the requirements. In the fabrication area the lengths were verified, the cut ends refined and the end plates and connections added. Because angles were involved, the components were triple checked, with inspections of the welding and drilling to confirm the holes and plates were correct.
Finish and delivery
The components were sand blasted ready for painting and hung in our yard to dry. After a final visual inspection, bolts, nuts, washers and packing plates were added, and the painted steel was loaded onto our 30-metre Hiab truck. It was delivered to site, where our crane helped the customer install the steel.
