We recently embarked on an exciting project involving a steel extension in Kent. This initiative was aimed at expanding a residential property, integrating modern architectural elements with durable and sleek steel structures. Our team focused on creating a seamless blend between the existing building and the new extension, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. This project not only enhanced the functionality of the space but also added a contemporary touch to the building.

Steel fabrication in Kent

Our regular customer contacted MAH Steel, requesting fabricated steel components for an extension project. This job required the creation of detailed drawings based on on-site measurements, which the customer provided promptly.

Our steel inventory was well-stocked, allowing us to begin processing the order quickly. We finalised the order and sent it to the workshop, where the steel was chosen carefully from our extensive stockpile. Then we transported it with a forklift for precision cutting. Each piece we checked meticulously against the cutting list and precisely cut to the required dimensions. Our skilled saw operator rarely makes errors, ensuring high accuracy in this crucial phase. Measure twice, cut once!

Next, we moved the cut pieces to our busy steel fabrication area, where our experienced team verified the lengths before starting the fabrication process. Following this, the team refined the cut ends, and integrated the appropriate end plates and connections into the workflow.

Throughout the fabrication process, rigorous checks ensured compliance with specifications. We thoroughly inspected the welding and drilling to confirm that the holes, plates, and other fabrication requirements met precise standards. Our commitment to precision was evident at every stage of production.

Once we completed steel fabrication, the steel components underwent sandblasting in preparation for painting. After that, we hang them in our yard to dry thoroughly.

Before loading, a final visual inspection confirmed that we manufactured all steel elements according to specifications. In the end, we added additional steel-to-steel fastenings, including bolts, nuts, washers, and packing plates to complete the job. We identified no defects during the inspection for this project.

Steel Delivery in Kent

Finally, the fabricated and painted steelcomponents were loaded onto our 22-metre Hiab truck.

Our fleet of lorries, equipped with advanced large cranes, efficiently transports steel materials to our clients’ sites. We offer a wide range of lorry cranes with reaches of 15 meters, 22 meters, and two with 30 meters, ensuring robust support for your projects.

The driver carefully reviewed the load to ensure it was ready for an early departure. The components were then delivered to the construction site and our crane helped the customer to install the steels.
