Project overview
A regular customer asked us for fabricated steel components for a residential extension in Kent. The job needed detailed drawings from on-site measurements, which the customer supplied promptly. The steel was in stock, so processing began quickly.
Work delivered
Fabrication
The steel was chosen from stock, taken by forklift to the saw, checked against the cutting list and cut to length. In the fabrication area our team checked the lengths, prepared the cut ends and added the end plates and connections. The welding and drilling were inspected to confirm that the holes, plates and fabrication requirements were met.
Finish and delivery
The steel was sandblasted ready for painting and hung in the yard to dry. Before loading, it was visually checked again, and bolts, nuts, washers and packing plates were added. The painted steel was loaded onto our 22-metre Hiab truck, the driver checked the load ready for an early departure, and the steel was delivered to the construction site. Our crane helped the customer to install the steels.
Outcome
- Steels lifted into position by our driver, and bolted up by the customer's team
MAH steel turned up on the day agreed and bang on the ETA given by the office the day before. The driver lifted the steels into position and our boys bolted them up. Fantastic price and service.
