Steel fabrication for Battersea

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for loft conversions, extensions and refurbishments in Battersea, Clapham Junction and Nine Elms, from the Victorian terraces of the Shaftesbury Park Estate to the riverside around Battersea Power Station, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB).

Steel for Battersea comes out of Gravesend and round the M25 to junction 10, then in by the A3 through Wandsworth and Battersea Rise. Nearer the river, Battersea Park Road and Nine Elms Lane are the A3205 and Queenstown Road is the A3216, so the last stretch depends on the address. The fabricated beams are made to the engineer's drawings and checked before delivery.

Where a lorry has to stand on the public road, kerb markings and signs decide where it can stop and for how long, and a crane working from the highway can need a borough licence and parking-bay suspensions. The HIAB can lift over a house into a rear garden, and the 15 m, 22 m or 30 m (fly jib) reach is chosen per job after the team has the address and access details.
