Project scope

Although our steel workshop is located in Kent, we produce and supply fabricated steel not only around the South East. We also work throughout the entire London area. For instance, this job was located in Clapham.

Commercial Steel Fabrication

One of our regular customers needed some special-sized steel columns and quickly. They send us an email simply asking for very specific, detailed steel.

They required special plates for this job, so we made sure we profiled them to the exact detail. It just couldn’t go wrong!

Not all required steels were regular sizes. Unfortunately, they weren’t available next day, so we had to source from our steel suppliers at the most cost-effective rate for our customer. Once we have found the best steel supplier, we delivered the steel to our yard and our team offloaded it.

Our cutting and saw operators check the cutting list and cut steels to the required measurements.

Once we cut the material, it’s then transported by a fork lift to the steel fabrication area, ready for our experienced team of steel fabricators to start the project. Our workshop manager then issues job tickets and Tekla drawings. After that, our in-house inspector checks all material, and then steel fabrication process begins.

Once the project has been manufactured, our in-house QA team checks the results of the steel fabrication. They also check steel welding and drilling to ensure that holes, plates and fabrication specifications are exactly where they should be.

We would never want any job to go wrong, but, certainly, it requires extra precision where the steels are specialised and costly. So, we make an extra effort to ensure it’s all spot on.

Finishing Touches

The steel is taken to our paint shop to be painted. After that, we always check it for the paint’s thickness. In the end, we lay it out in the yard.

After all, it’s checked again by the loading team. All steel must be correct to the delivery notes. Finally, we load it onto one of our crane lorries and deliver to exactly where the customers want it.

The steel is on site, ready for installation.
