Steel fabrication for Greater London

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for contractors, builders and homeowners across Greater London, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB) planned around each borough's access and loading rules.

Greater London is the administrative area of 32 boroughs and the City of London, and it is the boundary, more than the postcode, that decides which lorry rules apply. Boroughs on the south-east side, such as Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham, are reached from Gravesend by the A2. For other parts of London the M25 is the principal road link, and a Thames crossing at Dartford, or through the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels, may come into it; both are charged. The route is set for each delivery.

Inside the boundary the day is shaped by the street as much as the building. Red routes are managed by Transport for London and borough roads by the borough, and a crane on the public highway can need a borough licence.
