Steel fabrication for Wimbledon

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for extensions, loft conversions and refurbishments in Wimbledon, Wimbledon Park and Raynes Park, where grand Victorian houses stand close to the Common, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB).

Steel for this part of south-west London comes from Gravesend by the M25 to junction 10 and the A3, which meets the A219 at Tibbets Corner on Putney Heath; the A219 passes the Common and the town centre and ends at the A24 in South Wimbledon. Beams are fabricated to the engineer's drawings and checked before they leave.

Wimbledon Common is one of the largest areas of common land in London and Wimbledon Park is a Grade II* listed park, both are worth mentioning if your site is beside them. The Championships are held at the All England Club over a fortnight in late June and early July; if a delivery is likely to fall in that period, mention it when scheduling. Which of the 15 m, 22 m or 30 m (fly jib) cranes is used depends on how far the lorry can stand from the house, and is confirmed per job.
