Project overview
This was a steel fabrication project for one of our regular customers, who needed a steel frame made and delivered to their site in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Work delivered
Fabrication
The steel was offloaded by our fork trucks and cut to the project's cutting list. In the fabrication area the cut ends were cleaned and marked for drilling, and the end plates and connecting plates were tack-welded into position. The drilling team then drilled the holes to the engineering drawings and the steel was welded to the engineer's specification. The welding and drilling were checked again against the drawings.
Finish and delivery
The frame was blasted and painted to the required thickness, then hung in our yard to dry. The loading team checked every piece against the delivery notes, and the steel was loaded with its bolts, nuts, washers and packing plates (if required) onto one of our Hiab lorries. The driver delivered it to site and placed it where the customer wanted it.
