Project overview

A residential steel frame in Shorne, Kent, a short journey from our factory. We surveyed the site, took the measurements back to the workshop and ordered in the steel.

Work delivered

Fabrication

The loading team offloaded and checked the delivery. Our cutting and saw operators checked the cutting list and cut the steel, cleaning up and squaring the ends. A forklift took it to the fabrication area, where our in-house inspector checked the material and our workshop manager issued job tickets and Tekla drawings. After fabrication we checked that the holes were correct and the beams with end plates lined up.

Finish, delivery and installation

The components went to the paint shop, where the paint thickness was checked, and were then laid out in the yard for the loading team to check against the delivery notes. The steel was loaded onto one of our crane lorries and delivered to site, where our site team placed and erected it.
