Steel fabrication for Whitstable

MAH Steel fabricates structural steel at our Gravesend workshop in Kent for building projects in Whitstable, including Tankerton, Swalecliffe and Seasalter, where fishermen's alleys and mid-nineteenth-century cottages on Island Wall sit close to the harbour, with delivery by lorry-mounted crane (HIAB) via the A299.

Extension and loft steel for Whitstable is fabricated at Gravesend and checked before delivery. The principal road corridor is the M2 and then the A299 Thanet Way, which runs through the town. Tankerton, Swalecliffe and Chestfield lie to the east, and Seasalter to the west.

The harbour opened in 1832 and still supports fishing, cargo handling and boat storage. Oysters have been harvested here since Roman times, and the low-lying centre sits behind sea walls, with flooding recorded in 1897 and 1953. For lifts, MAH's HIAB cranes offer 15 m reach, 22 m and 30 m with a fly jib, with reach and feasibility confirmed per job.
